Kawasaki Ninja 150RR for India ?

Recently, Kawasaki Ninja 150RR was spied in Indonesia. Yes, you read it right. A “green” bike powered by 150cc mill under the Ninja branding was spied.

Indonesian website, TMC Blog, have laid their hands on leaked pictures of Kawasaki Ninja 150RR. Pictures were supposedly taken when the bike was under test. If the leaked pictures are of what seems to be like final design of the bike, it will give other 150cc bikes a good run for their money if priced wisely. The design is in par with competition.

Engine details are not out yet, though the current Ninja 150R spits 30Ps out of its 2 stroke, 150 cc engine while weighing 125 kgs, however, as we know that 2 strokes are banned in India, it’s safe to say that the 2 stroke Ninja 150R won’t make it to India, although Kawasaki could stick a 4-stroke engine in there specially for India.

Honda has its CBR150R already launched in Indonesia and India . Kawasaki by now has two variants of Ninja, namely 250R and 650R. If Honda launches its CBR150R and if Kawasaki decides to launch a 4-stroke 150RR and localize majority of Ninja 150’s production in order to price the bike reasonably, a stage will be setup where we can see Yamaha’s R15, Honda CBR150R and Kawasaki Ninja 150R facing head on competition.

As we all know motorcycle launches in Indonesia and India are almost similar , there is a possibilty that Kawasaki may launch the Ninja 150RR in India as well to make the 150cc segment even more competitive.
