Honda CBR250R bags the Indian Motorcycle Of The Year 2012 Award

The Honda’s light weight, stable chassis, and strong brakes mean the CBR250R can tackle out of town
sorties with vigour, while in city traffic its manoeuvrability and single-cylinder economy make it a commuter king.
The Honda CBR250R raises the bar in many aspects with regards to affordable performance motorcycling for the masses complimented by the right safety features. It’s the sort of bike that performance nuts in India had been waiting for, and was amongst the favourites of the jury


Indian Motorcycle of the Year is the most prestigious awards of the Indian automotive industry for motorcycle.  This award is in line with the international standards and modeled on similar lines as in America, Europe and Japan.The Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2012, was awarded to Honda CBR250R with the maximum points.

To qualify for Indian Motorcycle of the Year awards the bike should hit the showroom in India before 30th November.
The nominated motorcycles are judged on various parameters such as price, fuel efficiency, performance, safety, design, comfort, functionality, rider’s satisfaction, ergonomics, environmental responsibility, technical innovation and value for money.

The finalists for the Indian Motorcycle of the Year category were Bajaj Boxer BM150, Honda CBR250R, Hero Impulse, Harley-Davidson Iron, Hyosung GT650N and Kawasaki Ninja 650R. It was a close competition between the top three bikes – Honda CBR250R, Hero Impulse and Hyosung GT650N.

The Honda CBR250R was the top pick in voting for each and every one of the judges because of its wonderful blend of performance, price and most crucially, for being an easy to ride motorcycle.
