Garware - Hyosung ready with the GT 250R , bookings to start from May 2012.

Indian automobile sector is at an all time high this year especially the performance bike segment. Early in the year it was the Auto Expo which blew each and every motor enthusiasts mind with a wide range of launches and showcases . The Auto Expo set the trend and the rest is history .All motorcycle companies have made sure that they leave no stone unturned . Various new motorcycles were launched at the auto expo but the list doesn't end here, recently Bajaj along with the Austrian Off-roading Giants launched the KTM Duke 200 and Bajaj also showcased the new Pulsar 200 NS.
Now the Korean motorcycle company Hyosung after its successful debut with the GT 650R is now stated for a launch in 250cc segment which is already facing tough competition with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 250R,Honda CBR 250R and now the recently launched KTM Duke 200.
Hyosung GT250RLast week we had notified you about the Garware - Hyosung launching the Hyosung GT 250R and here it is.
Garware-Hyosung didn’t showcase their motorcycle range at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo, although they did have a couple of launches lined up for 2012. The first new motorcycle launch from Garware-Hyosung will be a 250cc motorcycle, the 2012 Hyosung GT250R. Identical to the GT650R, the GT250R will be a fully faired 250cc V-Twin motorcycle that will be a competitor to the Kawasaki Ninja 250R. Unlike the Ninja 250R, the Hyosung GT250R is expected to be priced  much lesser than the Ninja 250R, at about INR 2 to 2.25 lakhs, which is the only way this motorcycle can sell well in India.
The 2012 GT250R’s 250cc V-Twin engine is liquid cooled and runs on a 4 valves/cylinder DOHC layout. The engine is fuel injected and produces a peak power of 28 Bhp and a peak torque of 23 Nm. Bookings for the GT250R are said to open only in May, 2012, and that is still a good three months away. This means that the motorcycle will be delayed by a couple of months as Garware-Hyosung earlier announced a March 2012 launch. After launching the GT250R, Garware-Hyosung will also launch the naked version of this motorcycle, a few months down the line. The GT250N is expected to feature the same 250cc V-twin engine without any change in its state of tune.

The GT250N however could come with a more relaxed riding position as opposed to the more committed riding position on the GT250R. The lack of fairing is expected to result in the GT250N being much cheaper than the GT250R, like the same way that the GT650N is significantly cheaper than the GT650R. Therefore, the GT250N could be a decent bet for riding longer distances. Both these motorcycles will be assembled at Garware-Hyosung’s Wai assembly unit in Maharashtra by means of completely knocked down(CKD) kits.
For Hyosung GT 250R to sell successfully in India ,the main factor is the pricing of this bike . If they are able to price this bike competitively then there's no stopping this bike .
The competition is heating up in this segment and we hope other companies also join this fray .
