THE DRAG RACING MEET 2012 .

Every year there is a drag race meet organised by DHRITEE ASSOCIATES PRIVATE LIMITED in association with official Associate TCMC and it is going to be conducted this year as well .This race is conducted for both bikes and cars . Drag enthusiasts would certainly want to feature in this drag race meet as it is one of its kind in Mumbai . All the performance mods that you have ever done to your vehicle will be put to the test in this drag race meet .


It is an FMSCI approved event. There will be drag for 2-wheelers as well as 4-wheelers.
This event is the first in the series of many following events to be organized by the DHRITEE GROUP in near future. By this event, we the DHRITEE GROUP are initiating the halted tradition of motorsports (Drag Racing) in Mumbai.

Earlier this drag race meet was scheduled  for 4th and 5th February but it was postponed due to some reason. Now it has been scheduled on  April 28 at 8:00am until April 29 at 6:00am .

THE DRAG STRIP IS AT PANDAV PADA MARG, KHARGHAR, NAVI MUMBAI 

The Complete Schedule of the Drag Race Meet is as Follows :
Driver's meet will be held at a particular location where they will be briefed about the rules & regulations & stickers will be handed over at the same time.

Day 1

• Reporting Time - 7am at the track (Kharghar)

• Scrunity - 7 am onwards

•  Practice run for 2 wheelers will start at 9 am.

• Final race once practice run is done.

• Lunch break Foreign class practice run and race

• Wheelie class practice run for 2 wheelers.

Day 2

• Practice run for cars (start time at 8:30 am)

• Lunch break(12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

• Final run for 4W

• Foreign Bike Show

• Stunt Show

• Prize Distribution

Japan's Yamaha Motor Co to set up a Third Plant in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu is emerging as a hot spot for investors with various automobile companies such as Nissan, BMW, Hyundai, Ford, Daimler already operating there . TVS and Royal Enfield also have major plants set up in Tamil Nadu . Now there has been a report in  Business Standard that Japanese two-wheeler giant Yamaha is understood to have finalised a location in Tamil Nadu to set up its third facility in India to expand its operations.

Yamaha  has shortlisted Tamil Nadu out of three states, including Karnataka and Maharashtra, and will sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by May this year.

Yamaha is now trying to ramp up its operations in India in order to compete with its peers like Honda and Suzuki but also the top two-wheeler makers like Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj .
We recently saw Honda marching past Bajaj in terms of monthly sales , Yamaha also needs to ramp up its production to compete with them .

The company plans to invest Rs 800 crore in the next two years on capacity enhancement,the new plant is said to be fully functional till 2014 after which company sales in India  might increase upto 10 lakh unit against the 3.3 lakh unit in 2011 .

Yamaha Motor currently has two manufacturing units at Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh and Faridabad in Haryana and produces motorcycles for both domestic and export markets. In the current year, the company hopes to clock sales of 4.5 lakh units and 6.5 lakh units next year in India.

After launching successful series of Yamaha bikes in Indian bike market, Yamaha is going to make its entry in scooter market of India with the all new Yamaha Ray .
The Yamaha Ray concept scooter, which will be the first scooter offering from the Japanese brand for the Indian market, could be launched before the Indian festive season of Diwali 2012.
