Bajaj Auto is now the World's Third Largest Motorcycle Company.

Bajaj Auto launched many bikes in various segments and totally redefined the Indian Automobile sector and with launch of its Pulsar series it gave a new dimension to the Indian Automobile sector.Hardly had Bajaj thought that they would be able to sell five million units of the Pulsar brand, when they launched the bike more than ten years ago.Once known for its iconic scooter Chetak, Bajaj Auto has now transformed itself into a global motorcycle brand. With so many milestones in recent years Bajaj has edged out most of the companies in its competition.

In the year 2011-12 Bajaj Auto sold over 3.8 million units of motorcycles worldwide which makes it world’s third largest motorcycle manufacturer. Honda is the global leader of motorcycle whereas India’s largest two wheeler company is Hero Motocorp. If Bajaj continues to have such staggering volumes then its not long when Bajaj surpasses these companies as well.

The journey for Bajaj Auto was full of criticism but inspite of all these barriers , Bajaj has always been received well among the customers which made Bajaj a successful brand.

Around the world only few brands have been able to reach such high volume figures, it’s truly remarkable for the company which was once known for its bad quality

Bajaj has lot of successful motorcycle brands in their stable with the Discover and Pulsar series ruling their respective segments. Also Bajaj Auto’s Boxer is the largest selling motorcycle brand in the African region.
Bajaj currently has 10% market share of global motorcycle market and it aims to increase it up to 30% mark.

Bajaj Auto is now ready with an all-new Pulsar 200NS which might be available in few weeks.
Lets see how it performs in the already competitive 200cc segment.

Bajaj Auto hikes Pulsar and Platina Prices by 1%.

Recently we saw Hero Motocorp hiking its bike prices by INR 500-1000  to offset rising input costs. Now Country’s second largest two wheeler, Bajaj has hiked its flagship motorcycle Pulsar and entry level motorcycle Platina prices by 1% all over India .
We have seen many automobile companies feeling the brunt of rising input costs.

The main reason behind the rising input costs is inflation , depreciation in Rs. currency and the rising wages of the workers. So for now the primary target of the company is bring down the input cost so that it can price their bikes competitively .Bajaj was willing to hike the prices from quite some time but couldn't do so due to the fierce competition in the entry level segment. Bajaj had recently rolled out the 5 millionth Pulsar and it is quite confident that inspite of the slight price hike it won't affect its sales .

Bajaj Auto has only hiked prices of their strong brands i.e. Platina and Pulsar , the difference in the price of these bikes is shown below.

Pulsar 150cc DTSi old price: Rs. 62,100 (ex-showroom)
Pulsar 150cc DTSi New 2012 Price: Rs. 62,720 (ex-showroom)

Platina 125 old price: Rs. 38,000 (ex-showroom)
Platina 125 New 2012 Price: Rs. 38,380 (ex-showroom)

Bajaj is soon going to roll out an all new Discover and also the most awaited Bike of this year , the Pulsar 200NS. It was scheduled to be launched some where in May but still there has been no official confirmation from Bajaj Auto.
